About the shop
Meet Meg
Hi, I'm Megan Whitfield — Meg to just about everyone. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, spent seven years managing a boutique here in Austin, and opened Whitfield Mercantile in March 2022 with one idea: a neighborhood store that carries the things I'd actually want in my own home.
Everything on our shelves is picked by hand. We work with small makers here in Texas and across the country — potters, candle makers, printers and textile artists — and we'd rather carry one great version of something than ten okay ones.
When I'm not at the shop you'll find me thrifting, cooking, or out on a trail with a camera. Come say hi.
